The Varabella™ Story

Amy was driving down Hwy 101 in Oceanside, CA and looked over at her teal leather handbag sitting in the passenger seat. Knowing this did not match her red dress she had on that day. She cringed at the idea of changing her handbag with one she had in the trunk of her car that would match better. Late for a lunch meeting with a good friend who was waiting at a restaurant, Amy contemplated being even later from changing the handbag over or just not matching at all. Amy was thinking there has to be a better way.  She asked herself how she could change her handbag without changing the handbag.  She thought of getting a reversible handbag? She would have to take everything out and the inside could get messy, this is not the answer. Then she thought about getting a bag with changing covers, but what if the covers are at home? She needed something that could change multiple times. She liked the idea of a cover that detaches from the liner or bag, with that thought it came to her as she was driving home.  What if I could reverse a bag or cover that is already reversible, making four different colors. She got busy with her sewing machine and some scrap fabric. With her creative mind and some sewing skills within a few hours she had done the unthinkable, reversing a bag four times.  Needing some help on what to do next she went to her friend Dina who has family that patents their own products and has them manufactured overseas.  Dina was all in. Working together within five months they had their first five designs and came up with the money to make their first order. The two of them hopped on a plane and went to China to hand pick the factory and all elements to make the handbags come to together.  Amy’s dream came to life.

You can find Varabella handbags in fine boutiques throughout the country and on the internet. As of June 2009 Amy and Dina are making it possible for other moms to make money from home selling their beautifully unique handbags. New for 2010, you can buy additional custom bottoms for your Varabella handbags through a home party consultant, boutique or web site.
